b | Riders with no previous track experience are required to attend 1 rider training class provided by the New England Velodrome. |
b | A fixed gear bike with no brakes - rental bikes are available on a first come first served basis. |
b | Helmets must be worn at all times when riding, even during warm-ups. |
b | All riders will need a USA Cycling license to ride on the track. |
Rider Categories
ALL riders wanting to participate in events at the New England Velodrome must be categorized by race management. Velodrome Director has the ability to upgrade riders to Category 3 on the track per USA Cycling guidelines. |

Cat D to
Cat C | Completion of Velodrome class & 3 race days |
Cat C to
Cat B | Completion of Velodrome class & a minimum of (5) top three finishes and 3 race days |
Cat B
to
Cat A | Completion of Velodrome class & a minimum of (5) top three finishes and 3 race days |
